ABOUT KINABALU PARK & PORING HOT SPRING DAY TRIP

Tamparuli Town is a small town located on the West coast of Sabah (within Tuaran district) and well known for its suspension bridge or known by the locals as Jambatan Tamparuli. Tamparuli is a popular stop for travellers heading to Kinabalu National Park and a visit to Tamparuli town will not be completed without trying their famous Tamparuli mee.

Pekan Nabalu which is 12km before Kinabalu Park is a must-stop place for travellers. Pekan Nabalu is a popular marketplace with an amazing collection of handicrafts and local produce such as handicrafts and souvenirs and also delicacies such as Bambangan (Preserved Wild Mango and often eaten as a complimentary of main meals by the local), Lihing or Tapai (Local rice wine) and Tuhau (Wild ginger). Local snacks and crackers, fresh vegetables,s] and fruits are also being sold at Pekan Nabalu. One of the reasons that travellers love to visit Pekan Nabalu is because it is one of the best spots to see Majestic Mount Kinabalu.

Kinabalu National Park, is located in Kundasang, Ranau Malaysia and is the first Malaysia’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses more than 5,000 thousand species of vascular plants and some important fauna as well. Some of the important plants that you can find it here in Kinabalu National Park are the Nepenthes rajah; the world’s largest pitcher plant and Paphiopedilum rothschildianum (Rothschild slipper orchid) one of the rarest orchids in the world. The focal point of Kinabalu National Park is none other than the Majestic Mount Kinabalu which is standing at 4095.2 metres and is one the highest mountains in South East Asia

Poring Hot Springs 40 kilometres from Kinabalu Park Headquarters is a small reserve of nature that provides you with the perfect place for peace and relaxation. Poring Hot Springs houses both Private cabins as well as open-air baths whose water contains sulphuric minerals and is deemed to have healing properties. Other than the natural Hot Spring, there are a few interesting places nearby that you can visit to complete your journey, such as the Poring Canopy walkway, Poring Orchid Conservation Centre, tropical garden, butterfly farm, and the Rafflesia flower site.

Kota Kinabalu / Kundasang / Kota Kinabalu

0700-0715hrs– Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart on a 2 hours journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarter. En route passing by villages and a panoramic vista of the valleys of the Crocker Range. Along the way, take a brief stop at Nabalu. Nabalu is a place where the local natives gather to sell local produce, fruits, homegrown vegetables, and handicraft souvenirs. The temperature cools on arrival in Kinabalu Park. The park boasts an estimated of 4,500 species of plants which include 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. It also supports a whopping 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies. Lunch at a local restaurant before Departing for another interesting wonder, the Poring Hot Spring. Poring Hot Spring got its name from the tall bamboo plant that is abundant in that area. Soak your body in the spring’s hot sulphuric minerals, which are believed to have curative powers. Get on the canopy walk for a magnificent view of the rainforest. The canopy suspended 43 meters above the lush tropical jungle of Borneo holds a length of 157 meters that will give you plenty of time to take in all the beauty it has to offer. A 30-minute hike is all it takes to witness the natural wonder.

1700hrs– The tour will end here and you will be transferred back to your hotel by tour van/bus.
