DAY 1 – MALIAU BASIN CONSERVATION AREA / MALIAU BASIN STUDIES CENTRE

Expected to arrive at Maliau Gate at 2 PM. Enjoy free and easy time strolling around the Information Gallery, or have a light snack at the Maliau Cafe.

Proceed to Maliau Basin Studies Centre and upon arrival, check-in. The shop next to the reception counter offers a selection of souvenirs to bring home.

Visit the Nature Gallery to learn about the beauty and uniqueness of the Enchanted Lost World of Borneo.

Dinner will be served at Dalit Dining Hall.

After dinner, proceed to the Maliau Basin AV Lounge for a short video show (Introduction of MBCA) and take note of the Do’s and Don’ts while being at the studies centre.

Continue with a Maliau Night Walk to observe nocturnal animals, hear the unique sounds of the night, and learn about the fascinating behaviors of wildlife under the cover of darkness.

Return to the accommodation for rest.

DAY 2 – MALIAU BASIN STUDIES CENTRE / EE TRAIL / SKY BRIDGE / WILDLIFE TRAIL / OBSERVATION TOWER / OPTIONAL SAFARI DRIVE

Breakfast at Dalit Dining Hall.

Embark on an immersive journey along the EE Trail and enjoy scenic views while experiencing the natural beauty up close. Continue to the Sky Bridge, offering panoramic views and a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.

Proceed to the river area, where visitors can enjoy the serene surroundings and the calming sounds of flowing water. The river appears slightly tea-colored due to dissolved tannins and natural pigments from surrounding vegetation.

Return to the Study Centre for lunch.

In the afternoon, depart to the Wildlife Trail to immerse yourself in nature and experience the rich biodiversity of the area.

Visit the Observation Tower, where you can climb to an elevated platform offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and an ideal spot to witness the sunset.

Dinner will be served at Dalit Dining Hall.

Optional activity: Maliau Safari Night Drive for a chance to observe nocturnal wildlife in their natural habitat. If weather does not permit, the activity will be replaced with a Maliau Safari Dawn Drive the following morning.

Return for overnight rest.

DAY 3 – MALIAU BASIN STUDIES CENTRE / BIRD WATCHING / DEPARTURE

Enjoy an optional guided morning walk, followed by breakfast at 7:00 AM. Spend some free time and feel free to visit the souvenir shop before leaving Maliau Basin. We wish you a safe journey to your next destination
