DAY 1 – SEPILOK ORANG UTAN – BORNEAN SUN BEAR – BILIT, KINABATANGAN

Meet and pick-up from Sandakan Airport or hotel.
Proceed to the world famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. Upon arrival, a short brief by your guide. Watch a video documentary on rehabilitation of orphaned orangutans before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforests to the feeding platform. Observe and witness the feeding of the orangutans scheduled at 1000 hours. Then to the Outdoor Nursery, home to juvenile Orangutans aged between five to eight years old. Learn about managing juvenile orangutans.

Next visit to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Introductory presentation about sun bears, their conservation status and the work carried out at the center. Explore the outdoor ex-closures and observation areas to see the sun bears up close. Bornean Sun Bear is the smallest bear species and is native to the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Its common name comes from the pale horseshoe shape on their chests, which resembles the setting or rising sun.

Continue an approximately 2 hours ride to Bilit Rainforest Lodge which is located beside the Lower Kinabatangan River in the village of Bilit, a base for easy exploration of the incredible diversity of plant, mammal and birds at the Kinabatangan region. Upon arrival at Bilit Jetty, take a boat transfer to the lodge. Enjoy a welcoming drink and lunch at Bilit Restaurant. At 1530 hours, an afternoon tea break and short brief by the tour guide. At 1600 hours, proceed to Kinabatangan River Cruise to discover the Proboscis Monkeys, rarest birds and other wildlife. Free at leisure until dinner at 1930 hours.

You may (optional tour-price not included in package) take a night cruise in search of nocturnal animals and birds. Remember to look up at the clear, dark sky of Kinabatangan River, identify the constellations above you and make a wish or two.

DAY 2 – MORNING CRUISE – KAMPUNG WALK- AFTERNOON CRUISE

Light breakfast, an early morning river cruise to Ox-Bow Lake to explore more wildlife and birds.
Return to lodge for breakfast. Kampung Walk -introduction to the local village (Kampung Bilit) , culture and experiencing the daily life of the local Orang Sungai community. Free at leisure.

Lunch at Bilit Restaurant. At 1530 hours, an afternoon tea break. At 1600 hours, join another river cruise and in search for more Proboscis Monkeys, wildlife and birds. After tour, free until dinner at 1930 hours.

DAY 3 – RAINFOREST DISCOVERY CENTRE

Breakfast and check-out. Take a short boat depart Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Overland transfer to Sandakan.

En-route to Rainforest Discovery Centre, take a walk along the canopy walkway, elevated above the forest floor, for a unique perspective of the rainforest and its wildlife.

Enjoy your lunch before drop-off at Sandakan Airport or hotel.
