DAY 1 – LAHAD DATU / DARVEL BAY SNORKELING / BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE, DANUM VALLEY (JUNGLE CHALET)

Your journey begins in Lahad Datu with a warm welcome at the Borneo Nature Tours lounge. After a brief orientation and safety overview, enjoy a scenic overland transfer to the coastal gateway of W Bay Payang. Upon arrival, savor a fresh breakfast by the water as our marine experts prepare your professional snorkeling gear and share insights into the unique aquatic ecosystem you are about to explore.

Next, board our vessel for an excursion to the spectacular Blue Ring Reef, Malaysia’s only known double marine blue hole, and the vibrant Laila Reef. Immerse yourself in these rare underwater wonders, snorkeling among dazzling coral gardens teeming with exotic marine life. Enjoy a tranquil surface interval onboard or soaking in the panoramic beauty of Darvel Bay at the serene Kalung-Kalungan stop.

After returning to the coast for a freshwater rinse and a relaxed seaside lunch, take a moment to unwind before your journey inland. In the afternoon, travel into the heart of the Danum Valley Conservation Area. This transition from coast to ancient dipterocarp forest offers a fascinating look at Borneo’s diverse landscapes.

Upon arrival at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, settle into your luxurious retreat with a signature welcome drink. Begin with a 5-star facilities introduction by our Front Office team, followed by your Nature Guide’s briefing on the evening’s adventures. As dusk falls, step into the shadows of the 130-million-year-old jungle for a Guided Night Walk or Night Drive, offering your first encounter with the mysterious nocturnal wildlife of the valley.

DAY 2 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / COFFIN CLIFF / JACUZZI POOL / CANOPY WALKWAY / NIGHT WALK

Awaken to the calls of Bornean Gibbons and begin your morning with a guided trek to Coffin Cliff, an ancient Dusun Subpan burial site. For those who are fit and eager for a longer trek, continue onward to Fairy Falls, surrounded by lush foliage and scenic views. Afterward, cool off with a refreshing dip in the Natural Jacuzzi Pool before returning to the Lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, experience the Canopy Walkway—a 314-meter-long suspended bridge rising 27 meters above the forest floor—offering panoramic views of the rainforest canopy and its hidden wildlife.

As the day concludes, set out once again for a Night Drive or Night Walk to discover the forest’s thriving nocturnal life.

DAY 3 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES / NIGHT WALK

Start your day with a guided trek along the enchanting Segama Trail to discover a magnificent natural landmark – an estimated 500-year-old strangling fig tree. After returning to the Lodge for lunch, the afternoon is yours to enjoy.

Adventurers may embark on a Jungle Cycling experience, winding through scenic rainforest trails, or opt for a River Rafting journey along pristine waters surrounded by untouched nature. Alternatively, join another guided trek or unwind at your own pace amidst the tranquil surroundings of the Lodge.

As evening approaches, take one final Night Drive or Night Walk, continuing your exploration of this biodiverse haven under the stars.

DAY 4 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / LAHAD DATU

On your final morning, enjoy an optional early walk before returning to the Lodge for a hearty lunch. After check-out, begin your transfer back to Lahad Datu Airport, taking with you a lifetime of memories from Borneo’s extraordinary coastal and rainforest wonders.
