Your journey begins in Lahad Datu with a warm welcome at the Borneo Nature Tours lounge. After a brief orientation and safety overview, enjoy a scenic overland transfer to the coastal gateway of W Bay Payang. Upon arrival, savor a fresh breakfast by the water as our marine experts prepare your professional snorkeling gear and share insights into the unique aquatic ecosystem you are about to explore.

Next, board our vessel for an excursion to the spectacular Blue Ring Reef, Malaysia’s only known double marine blue hole, and the vibrant Laila Reef. Immerse yourself in these rare underwater wonders, snorkeling among dazzling coral gardens teeming with exotic marine life. Enjoy a tranquil surface interval onboard or soaking in the panoramic beauty of Darvel Bay at the serene Kalung-Kalungan stop.

After returning to the coast for a freshwater rinse and a relaxed seaside lunch, take a moment to unwind before your journey inland. In the afternoon, travel into the heart of the Danum Valley Conservation Area. This transition from coast to ancient dipterocarp forest offers a fascinating look at Borneo’s diverse landscapes.

Upon arrival at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, settle into your luxurious retreat with a signature welcome drink. Begin with a 5-star facilities introduction by our Front Office team, followed by your Nature Guide’s briefing on the evening’s adventures. As dusk falls, step into the shadows of the 130-million-year-old jungle for a Guided Night Walk or Night Drive, offering your first encounter with the mysterious nocturnal wildlife of the valley.

DAY 2 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / COFFIN CLIFF / JACUZZI POOL / CANOPY WALKWAY / NIGHT WALK

The morning begins with the resonant calls of Bornean Gibbons echoing through the canopy. A guided trek takes you to the “View Point” and the culturally significant “Coffin Cliff,” an ancient burial site of the Dusun Subpan people. For those who are more fit and eager for a longer trek, continue onward to Fairy Falls, a tranquil and picturesque site surrounded by dense rainforest and cascading waters. Afterwards, cool off with a refreshing dip in the Natural Jacuzzi Pool, where spring-fed waters flow gently through smooth stones beneath the shade of the forest.

Following lunch at the Lodge, the afternoon offers the option of a jungle trek or, weather permitting, exploring the 314-meter-long Canopy Walkway, suspended 27 meters above ground. This elevated path offers sweeping views across the rainforest and opportunities to observe wildlife in the treetops.

As twilight settles over the rainforest, venture out on a second Night Drive or Night Walk to encounter the region’s fascinating nocturnal creatures.

DAY 3 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES / NIGHT WALK

You may choose a gentle River Rafting experience along the Danum River, a peaceful yet invigorating way to appreciate the rainforest from a new perspective, or simply unwind at leisure, embracing the comfort and serenity of the Lodge.

In the evening, continue your discovery of the forest after dark with another guided Night Walk or Night Drive.

DAY 4 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES / NIGHT WALK

After lunch, spend the afternoon at your own pace – embark on an adventurous Jungle Cycling experience through shaded forest trails, join a guided trek into the surrounding wilderness, or simply relax and unwind to the soothing rhythm of the rainforest.

As night falls once more, set out for a final Night Walk or Night Drive, deepening your connection with this ancient ecosystem and its elusive nocturnal life.

DAY 5 – BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE – DANUM VALLEY / LAHAD DATU
