Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL) in the Danum Valley Conservation Area will introduce a new Abseiling (Tree Climbing) experience starting 1 March 2026, offering guests a fresh way to experience the rainforest from above.
The activity takes place within the lodge compound and is operated in collaboration with Gibbon Tree Care Enterprise (GTCE), a professional and fully insured specialist operator.
Designed as a soft-adventure addition to the rainforest experience, the activity allows participants to ascend into the canopy using rope access techniques and descend safely under professional supervision.

Participation is subject to safety requirements and final on-site assessment by the operator.
Danum Valley is known for biodiversity, wildlife observation, and immersive rainforest exploration. The introduction of canopy abseiling adds a new dimension, allowing guests to engage with the forest vertically rather than only from the ground or walkways.
Together with guided walks, canopy walkways, river excursions, and wildlife observation, this new activity broadens the experience while maintaining the lodge’s conservation-focused approach.
As a licensed travel agency based in Sabah, we offer Danum Valley packages that include stays at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, guided activities, and seamless travel arrangements. Whether you are seeking a safe canopy adventure, a unique photography experience, or a deeper connection with the rainforest environment, our team can help tailor your itinerary for a well-rounded Danum Valley experience.
